Inch Versus Metric?

A priority from Day 1 for ProvenCut was to offer better CNC Speeds & Feeds recipes to a GLOBAL audience. To do that, ProvenCut needed an elegant way of handling inch (a.k.a. imperial) and metric dimensions – and the user needed control over their preferences.

ProvenCut handles inch versus metric in two ways. The first way is the master toggle on the top right of the ProvenCut Recipe page. ProvenCut remembers your Imperial / Metric setting, so no need to re-select your preference!

However, we live in a world with mixed dimensions. In the United States, metric dimensions are increasingly common. Likewise, we know shops in Europe occasionally come across imperial values. That’s why we built a “hover” option – simply hover the mouse cursor over any dimension value (anything from diameter to material removal rate) and the alternate unit is display! It’s a great way to show that the 6.35mm tool is also 0.25″!
