Not sure which ProvenCut speeds and feeds recipe you’re looking for? Use the Sort By feature to sort the filter results by MRR (Material Removal Rate), Stickout, Gage Length or Recipe Number!
Material Removal Rate (MRR) refers to the volumetric amount of material that the recipe or cut is removing per minute. MRR is a great way of comparing ProvenCut recipes to see which recipe is more aggressive or productive.
Stickout refers to the amount that the tool protrudes from the tool holder face. Stickout has a significant impact on tool rigidity, yet sometimes you need an unusual amount of stickout to clear part of the workpiece or a fixture. Longer stickouts are also common on 3+2 and simultaneous 5-axis CNC parts.
Gauge Length refers to the length from the gauge line of the spindle (usually near, but just above, the spindle face) and the tip of the tool. In other words, Gauge Length refers to how much the tool holders + tool stickout from the machine spindle. Just like Stickout, a shorter Gauge Length is more rigid but there are times when longer tool holders (and thus longer Gauge Lengths) are required.
